Last week, nine delegates (EF) from the KWG discussed and tried to find compromises on highly political issues such as responsible consumption and sustainable production in the context of a more environmentally conscious lifestyle and behaviour at MUNOL in Lübeck. There were exciting debates in all eleven forums dealing with the conference theme “Responsible Consumption and Production“. Hereby, our delegates represented UNICEF, Chile and Ireland.

The aim of this conference was to spread political interest and commitment. The day and evening events served as opportunities to get to know new people, make international contacts (with almost 500 participants from seven different countries) and gain self-confidence in appearing in front of a group. Of course, the most important aspect was to have a great time experiencing how the United Nations work. Hence, resolutions and amendments were written, checked, debated and (sometimes) passed. Moreover, prominent guest speakers (e.g. Amnesty International or Journalists without borders) enriched the conference by giving an insight into certain fields of their expertise, enhancing the delegate`s background knowledge, and ameliorating the quality of debate.
